Aaron T. Wacker, Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Tulsa, teaches music education courses, applied tuba and euphonium, and co-conducts the University Symphonic Winds. He also serves as a liaison to the Department of Education. Before coming to TU, he taught at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO and as a k-12 teacher in private and public schools in Missouri and Colorado. Dr. Wacker’s research has been presented at music education state, national, and international conferences. Recent presentations have included Visions of Research in Music Education: The Conference (2019), the International Society for Music Education World Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan (2018), Music Research and Teacher Education National Conference in Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia (2018, 2016), and the College Band Directors National Association conference in Kansas City, Missouri (2017). He is published in the International Journal of Research in Music Education, Journal of Band Research, Contributions to Music Education, Missouri Journal of Research in Music Education, Band and Orchestra Magazine, and The Colorado Music Educator. Dr. Wacker is also an experienced adjudicator and guest clinician, having worked with bands in several states.
