Dr. Carl Spaeth is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Tulsa School of Music. He has served previously in teaching positions at Oklahoma State University, South Dakota State University, and the University of Kansas. Spaeth completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance at the University of Kansas and his Master of Music Pedagogy and Performance from Oklahoma State University. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and served previously as a 5th-12th grade Head Band Director. As an active saxophonist, Dr. Spaeth has hosted the North American Saxophone Alliance Regional Conference, placed 3rd in the Music Teacher's National Association's National Chamber Music Competition, and performed as a sololist for Ethan Bortnick's national PBS special called "Generations of Music." Spaeth has participated in jazz festivals throughout the United States, Switzerland, Germany, and France. Dr. Spaeth is a Conn-Selmer and Key Leaves Endorsing Artist.
