Bio

After receiving his PhD in Health and Human Performance from Iowa State University in 2006, Dr. Wickel began his academic career at the University of Tulsa. While at TU, Dr. Wickel has actively published his research in leading academic journals and presented at national and international conferences. To date, his research has been cited in more than 700 peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Wickel’s research primarily focuses on the association between activity (and inactivity) and health-related outcomes, but he is also interested in exploring issues related to the measurement of activity and investigating determinants of youth behavior. Dr. Wickel was awarded tenure with promotion to Associate Professor in 2012.

Research Interests

Exploring the association between physical activity and health outcomes, and investigating issues related to the measurement of physical activity.
