Mark Lewis, MFA

Bio
Mark Lewis was born in Oklahoma City in 1959. He studied painting at Oklahoma State University and received a BFA in painting at the Kansas City Art Institute, in Kansas City, Missouri in 1982. In 1984 he received an MFA in painting at Yale University, in New Haven Connecticut. Mark is currently teaching painting, drawing and collage at The University of Tulsa, in Oklahoma. Mark completed a commission piece titled, “The Tallgrass Prairie,” for the new BOK Arena in 2008, designed by Cesar Pelli, in Tulsa. Mark has shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the country. In 2012, Mark had his first solo show of recent collages and paintings at the Bowery Gallery in New York City. In 2016, he became a member of the Bowery Gallery. In October/November of 2017 he had a solo exhibition at 108 Contemporary in Tulsa. His next solo exhibit will be held at the Bowery Gallery in 2020.
