Matt Toomey, PhD

Bio
Matthew Toomey is an Assistant Professor of Biology in the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences. His research is focused on understanding the adaptations of the avian visual system by bringing together a diversity of approaches from optical physics to animal behavior. He also pursues studies of the molecular and enzymatic mechanisms of pigment metabolism that generate the spectacular diversity of coloration in the animal kingdom.
