Bio

Dr. Keller received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Tulsa and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since arriving at TU, his research interests have focused on the experimental characterization of complex materials and the synthesis of new polymers and composites that have an inherent multi-functionality. Keller received an NSF CAREER award in 2014 and his research has been supported by a wide range of Federal, State, and private sources. He has received both the ENS teaching award and the University teaching award while at TU. He was also recognized with the Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award by the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Research Interests

Michael Keller’s research focuses primarily on understanding the mechanics of solid and complex materials. He is interested in the characterization and manufacturing of novel multi-functional composite materials. He is particular interested in the development and characterization of materials with autonomic functionality, such as self-healing composites.
