Sheryl Stansifer, DNP, APRN-CNP

Bio
After serving as Director, School of Nursing from November 2017 until December 2019, Dr. Stansifer has returned to the Family Nurse Practitione (FNP) program full-time. She has served as the FNP Program Director since 2015. Dr. Stansifer has over 20 years of experience as family nurse practitioner in Rural Health, Cardiology, Neurology, Telemedicine, Acute Care, Long Term Acute Care, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Dr. Stansifer is also a peer site reviewer for Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Prior to joining The University of Tulsa, Dr. Stansifer practiced at Hillcrest Medical Center with the hospitalist group and continues to maintain a clinical faculty practice at Jack C. Montgomery VA and Veterans Evaluation Services.
Research Interests
Improving care access for under served populations in Oklahoma.
Teaching Interests
Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum and clinical practice with an emphasis on under served populations.
