Biography

While Sullenberger served as dean, the Collins College of Business received naming gifts for the college and the business building from the Collins and Helmerich families; the college endowment greatly increased; eleven new endowed chairs and professorships were added; the School of Energy Economics, Policy and Commerce was created; and new programs were developed including: Full-Time MBA, Energy Management, Master of Energy Business, Master of Accountancy, MS in Finance, Sport Management, Not-For-Profit Administration, and 3+3 BSBA/JD. Prior to joining TU, Sullenberger served as the dean of the business colleges at Washington State University and Bradley University; and held the positions of interim vice president for finance, associate vice president for academic affairs, associate dean and department chair at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he founded the MIS program.   Sullenberger was Inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Computing Hall of Fame in 2006 and was an active computer consultant in Oklahoma and Arkansas. He serves on accreditation review teams for AACSB International and is an active consultant for business schools. He has also been a member of the AACSB Initial and Continuing Accreditation Committees. Sullenberger is active internationally promoting high quality business education in Russia and other countries. In Russia, he led the effort to start a new business school at Samara State University and organized professional development programs for Russian managers and Russian university faculty. He also developed business school partnerships in the Czech Republic, Germany, England, Wales, China and Japan.
