In her previous professional performing career, Lesley Jennings had the privilege of performing on Broadway in the Tommy Tune production of Grease! and in Susan Stroman's production of The Music Man. She toured the U.S. and Canada in the first National Tour of the same production of Grease! for several wonderful years, and appeared in many different roles. She was featured in numerous other regional theater productions across the country -- favorites include West Side Story, A Little Night Music, and Bye, Bye Birdie. Jennings danced in many, many Christmas Spectaculars at the beautiful Radio City Music Hall. She also taught theater dance to NYC public school children in two organizations – Rosie's Broadway Kids and the National Dance Institute of NY. She was the Associate Director and faculty at the Broadway Theater Dance Project in Santa Fe, NM, which touched a number of students who are part of this generation of professional dancers.
Jennings was raised and trained in Oklahoma and holds a B.P.A. in Dance from The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Dance Management at Oklahoma City University. In 2011, she was honored as that department's "Distinguished Graduate." She has been a guest teacher at OCU's summer intensive, Broadway Bound, and a guest artist and adjunct dance teacher at ORU. She also choreographed Tintypes and Hello, Dolly at ORU. Other Tulsa area productions include choreography for: the Oklahoma premiere of A Little Princess, The Music Man, The Wizard of Oz, High School Musical, Oliver and Beauty and the Beast at Children's Musical Theater of Bartlesville, and the original production Radio Kids by Sally Adams at Holland Hall. She currently visits public schools as a teaching artist through the Tulsa Area Arts and Humanities Council. She works extensively with the Jenks High School vocal music program.
Jennings is still a proud member of Actor's Equity Association and the American Guild of Variety Artists.
