His research interest is in the investigation of neuromuscular and biomechanical characteristics influencing spinal and lower extremity injury risk in athletic populations such as collegiate athletes and military Warfighters. The specific aim of his research agenda is to provide an evidence-based approach for analyzing lower extremity muscular strength within the context of large-scale screening exams and return-to-play evaluations (or duty) in order to optimize health and performance in traditional and nontraditional (e.g. Warfighters) athletes.
