Biography

Professor Shirazi conducts research in the area of computational fluid mechanics of multiphase flow (liquid-gas-particles) and turbulent flow modeling in multiphase flow. He is currently serving as the Director of the Erosion/Corrosion Research Center (E/CRC) at the University of Tulsa and co-directing Tulsa University Sand Management Projects (TUSMP) and has been conducting research in sand erosion, corrosion, and computation of multiphase flow. Dr. Shirazi has been author and co-author and published more than 220 papers in journals and proceedings and participated in more than 200 professional technical and invited presentations. He was selected to the rank of Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2008, received the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Technical Achievement Award in 2013, and selected to receive the Fellow award of NACE in 2015.
